remifemin
We are proud to have contributed to the Remifemin app — a digital companion developed by medigital GmbH, member of the MEDICE Health Family, for one of Germany's most established pharmaceutical products in women's health.
Remifemin is MEDICE's flagship phytomedicine for menopause symptom relief, used by women across Europe for decades. The companion app extends the product into a daily digital experience, enabling women to systematically track their symptoms against the clinical Menopause Rating Scale, log daily check-ins, explore educational content, and monitor the impact of their treatment over time.
Curiosum joined the Remifemin app development team to work alongside medigital's engineers to build and evolve the mobile application and its backend foundation.

The Idea
Menopause affects women in highly individual ways, with over 34 distinct associated symptoms spanning physical, psychological, and urogenital dimensions. Yet most women navigate this transition with little systematic support. The Remifemin app was designed to change that.
By giving women a structured way to assess and track their symptoms over time — from hot flashes and sleep disturbances to mood changes and heart palpitations — the app turns a subjective, often confusing experience into something measurable and manageable. Daily check-in reminders keep users engaged with their health journey, while a built-in content library (Bibliothek) provides educational context to help them understand what they are experiencing. The Remifemin tab gives direct visibility into their supplement regimen, closing the loop between the physical product and digital wellbeing.

The Challenge
Curiosum were brought in to augment medigital's development team, taking on both frontend and backend responsibilities as the Remifemin app expanded its feature set.
We contributed to the Elixir/Phoenix APIs handling user data and symptom records, and helped improve the internal Phoenix LiveView CMS through which the medigital team manages in-app content and the educational library. We also helped the frontend team hydrate new screens and flows including the symptom questionnaire, the daily check-in experience, and profile management.
Working within a healthcare context added an important dimension: all development adhered to the data protection and security standards required for medical software in the European market, with particular care around the handling of sensitive women's health data.

The Solution
Curiosum matched medigital's need for a partner combining React Native expertise on the frontend with Elixir on the backend — and integrated smoothly into the client's existing team and workflows.
Our engineers adapted quickly to the Remifemin codebase and product conventions, collaborating closely with medigital's product owners and designers to deliver features that feel native to the app's warm, approachable character. We contributed to API development, symptom tracking logic, CMS tooling, and notification infrastructure — helping the team ship a more complete and reliable product for its users.
The collaboration is ongoing, with Curiosum continuing to support the Remifemin app as medigital deepens its digital health offering for women.
